Wild Heart Mustangs™ has a NEW LOOK! Wild Heart Mustangs™ Workshop continues to bring you articles about wild horses, mules and donkeys; trail riding, homesteading, Veteran’s programs, and wellness for you, your equine and other animals. Wild Heart Mustangs™ Workshop will still have Trainer Tips, Vet Talk, Riding Freedom’s Trail, Homesteading and L’il Buckaroos. Our Calendar of Events remains unchanged with updated clinics, trail rides, events and wild horse adoptions!
What is new, is that Wild Heart Mustangs™ Workshop will be updated on an ongoing basis as new articles, information and events become available. While no longer a monthly or bi-monthly e-zine format, all Departments remain unchanged. All previous issues of Wild Heart Mustangs™ e-zine are archived for our readers’ convenience. All our great articles, information and resources are still just a click away. Advertising opportunities are still available. Reader Contributions are always welcome. Go to our Contact page to share pictures of your beloved mustangs, mules and donkeys. Make a dedication to a veteran who has sacrificed for our country and our freedom. Time to Refocus and Simplify
by Mary A. Lainhart It was time to refocus and simplify. While it was exciting having babies on the farm – we never intended to breed and raise cattle. Our original goal was always to just raise grass fed beef for ourselves. When Momma cow had her babies, each time we were hoping for a steer for meat.

TRAINER TIPSFor this month’s Trainer Tips I had the suggestion from a trainer competing in the Extreme Mustang Makeover (EMM) – Reno (Dana Lovell – August 2016 Issue) to pose one question to all the trainers participating in this particular makeover to see their experiences with their new makeover horses. All these horses are unique in that they were all recently gelded studs.

RIDING FREEDOMS TRAIL
Xander was donated by a person in RI that adopted him from an auction house. Sgt. Xander has issues from his past that has made him skittish and he does not trust easily. Because of his size (1800 lbs) everyone wants to work with this huge, beautiful animal.

What is a Buckaroo, Anyway?

Buckaroo is a kind of cowboy – a very special kind. The word “Buckaroo” is the American way of saying the Spanish word for cowboy – “Vaqueros.” In Spanish, the V is pronounced like B, so Vaquero became Buckaroo when early American settlers learned the word.
